What is Passive Smoking and what are its ill effects?
Breathing in other people’s smoke is called second hand smoke (SHS) and nonsmokers who are exposed to SHS are called passive smokers. Passive smoking can be as dangerous as normal smoking. Second hand smoke can cause health problems too like breathing problems, heart disease, stroke and oral and lung cancers.
Usually children are the common passive smokers. They are at a higher risk of respiratory infections, asthma and cancer. If you are a smoker, smoking outside can help reduce your child’s exposure.
